What is it?
Skineal Creme (topical steroids or corticosteroid). It is an anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory cream.
What are its skin care benefits?
Skineal is often used as an over-the-counter treatment for common skin diseases such as eczema, athletes foot and yeast infection. Like all topical steroids creams it contains three major elements 1) anti-fungal agent 2) anti-bacterial agent 3) anti-inflammatory agent. It is a very versatile product and has been very much abused by consumers. In some cases it is used as a bleaching or lightening agent which can lead to irreversible skin damage. Scientists are still trying to understand exactly how topical steroids work.
Any concerns?
Yes. Skineal should not be used a skin lightening cream. Many products are available which will help achieve the same results with reduced risk. Apart from sun damage prolong use of topical steroids is extremely harmful to the skin.
