7 Ways to Quickly Restore Sun Damaged Feet

Now the pair of feet below are absolutely terrible. I honestly don't expect anyone reading this article to have feet as bad as this however there a many people who suffer from similar conditions.
No circumstance is hopeless and that is my positive belief. To get your feet back to looking healthy and full fitness is more a thing of the mind. If you believe it then you can do it! Here is how.

1) Discontinue any skin lightening products you are using
Just stop. These products are the number one reason for discolored feet. The sun is your skins number one enemy. Most skin lightening body lotions do not provide adequate sun  protection. I have have reviewed many of the best and many are seriously lacking despite bold claims of providing protection. Using Hydroquinone, Kojic are Arbutin based products without broad spectrum sun screen of SPF30 and above is a recipe for disaster. If you must use your product without sun screen then use it only at night.

2) Wear protective clothing and good shoes
As mentioned above the sun is you worst enemy when it comes to skin care. To restore your feet you need to wear good shoes which are comfortable and provide the most protection. If you can achieve this and still look fashionable then that would be awesome. Remember your feet are more vulnerable than the rest of your body. The sun rays are constantly bouncing off the hard surfaces such as sand, asphalts and concrete. Since your feet are closer to the ground they will likely absorb most of this dangerous UV radiation. Ladies who wear sandals and slippers are more likely to suffer the most as the feet have less cover than someone wearing shoes.

3) Keep your feet clean
They say charity begins at home and so good looking, healthy feet begin with good hygiene. Give your feet special attention every morning and night as you shower. Take time to clean and scrub (gently) between your toes and also the heal and base of the feet. This helps remove dirt and unclog pores which also contribute to unhealthy looking feet. Remember that unclean feet are a breeding ground for all types of microbes which will do your feet no good.

4) Use Intense moisturizers and never allow your feet to go dry
You must select a very good moisturizing lotion packed with every beneficial ingredient such as emollients (fats and oils), humectants (glycerine, vaseline), antioxidants (vitamin C & E), other vitamins (vitamins A & B) etc There are many such products in beauty shops and supermarket. Money should not be an issue considering the condition of your feet. To restore them to full health will take your full commitment. Alternatively there are many natural oils that will be very helpful such as castor oil, olive oil and coconut oil to name a few.

5) Exfoliate regularly
This is very important. To get you feet back to shape you will need to get rid of the layers of dead or damaged skin cells. This will expose the fresh skin cells under neath which will give your feet a bright healthy glow. You can achieve this by exfoliating using a suitable product such as physical scrubs (apricot powder, salt) or chemical scrubs (salicyclic acid, glycolic acid). Exfoliating 2 to 3 times a week should be sufficient so that you don't over do it and cause more damage.

6) Use sunscreen when going outdoors
If you cannot avoid exposing your feet then its advisable you include a potent sunscreen in your foot protection arsenal. For adequate protection your sunscreen should be rated SPF30 or above and provide broad spectrum protection. Note that your sunscreen must be applied 30 minutes before you go out. It must also be reapplied every 2 hours as long as you remain outdoors so keep it handy in your purse. Sunscreen can be applied to any exposed part of your body.

7) Be patient and stay focused
The skin will not be rushed. Just like any other part of your body it takes time and resources for it to be fully rejuvenated. There must be a period of healing. This may take several weeks or even months. What is important is that you follow the key steps daily. Gradually you will see that your feet will recover their freshness and natural beauty. Remember that good things are worth waiting for.
