Natural Beauty vs Makeup (A Male Perspective)

Dear Sugar Beauty,

Do you remember the age old arguments...which do you admire most; the ‘naturally” beautiful women or the makeup enhanced and smoking hot “fem fatal”? I cannot count how many times I’ve had that discussion. Well, I actually think that the answer lies somewhere in between.

As a guy, I appreciate waking up with my partner knowing what I see is the raw product. In the morning, at that moment, she is beautiful in a special kind of way. Crafted in God’s own hands, she is simple, uncomplicated and serene, delicate as a flower in the meadow. She remains perfectly natural and is beautiful with all of her perfections and flaws.

However, on the flip side, consider a picture image of the same flower captured on film. Its features and appearance are digitally enhanced to reveal its finest hidden beauty features. Flaws are cleverly concealed. What we now have is an almost perfect awe inspiring picture.

I think a truly beautiful woman is just the same.  She is beautiful without makeup and drop-dead gorgeous with it.

The ideal situation for me is having the perfect compromise; the best of both worlds.
