1) Flouride - Flouride is a very common substance found in many toothpaste. It aggressively fights tooth decay by strengthen tooth enamel and fighting the formation of plaque. Plaque can harden and form Tartar if it is not removed.

2) Kids toothpaste - These are made from substances that are safe for children's use and some can even be swallowed. This eliminates the need for close monitoring by parents while kids are brushing.

3) Tartar control -  Tartar is a dark build up on the surface of the teeth which is formed by hardened bacteria. Bacteria can solidify into tartar if it is allowed to remain on the teeth for 24 hours.

4)  Sensitive teeth - When the teeth become acutely painful from consuming sweet or hot foods such as ice cream, sweets of hot beverages then it requires special desensitizing toothpaste. This types of toothpaste provide relief to the painful tooth when used regularly over a period of time.

5)  Whitening and brightening - These types of toothpaste concentrate more on creating a whitening and brightening effect using bleaching substances such as peroxides and baking soda.
