A Broader definition of Beauty

So much propaganda about why we should love our black skin #lovemelanin and all that. Please love what you got okay but please don't expect ...or worse, insist that others accept your definition of beauty. Okay, why not lets just forget about cosmetics all together...no lipstick, no shadow, no body lotion, no extensions, no fake eye lashes, no foundation, no spot creams, no perfumes...nothing. How does that sound? In fact, lets just move around in loin clothes and wear Afros all day long like our ancestors.
Why do we black folk take things like this to extremes. White folks are not doing videos to remind themselves of how beautiful "white" skin is. They feel completely comfortable to choose whatever shade is best for them...pale, light or tan. Yes, they go out into the sun for a tan (the opposite of lightening!)
Ladies, if you want to lighten up your complexion please feel free. Just do it safely and in a healthy way. Do what your heart desires and don't let anyone dictate to you what "beautiful'' means.
