The Benefits of Niacinamide

Olay Regenerist is an award winning range based on Niacinamide

If you look closely on the reverse side of many popular body lotions, creams, soaps,  and other  skin care products you will often find that NIACINAMIDE appears otften. This substance is one of the most important of all skin care ingredients.
It is also know as Vitamin B3 (which is actually a combination of niacin and niacinamide)
Niacinamide reduces pore size and as a result improves elasticity of the skin. This is important in fighting wrinkles and aging skin. This elasticity also results in smoother skin. Another benefit of niacinamide is that it fights free radicals (see the next post). Free radicals are associated with aging, acne and skin damage. The conglomerate Proctor & Gamble (P&G) are global leaders in skin care research. Niacinamide is used extensively in the P&G brand "Olay".
Natural sources of niacinamide include fish, eggs, green vegetables, cereals, grains, yeast and meat (beef liver and kidney).
