How to avoid Sunburn

SUNBURN BASICS
What causes sunburn?
Sunburn is caused by being overly exposed to sunrays or direct sunlight.
Are there different types of sunrays?
Yes, the sun emits different types of rays or radiation. These are:
1)                UVA
2)                UVB
3)                UVC
UVC is harmless but UVA and UVB are very damaging to the skin causing sunburn, premature aging and deadly skin diseases such as Melanoma or tumors.
What are common signs of Sunburn?
Signs of sunburn include:
1)                Pain and swelling of affected area
2)                Blisters
3)                Cold like symptoms
4)                Darkening and pealing of the skin
How can we protect our skin?
The skin is the largest organ in the body and should be protected as much as possible.
First, eat foods rich in vitamin E such as mangoes, avocado, pawpaw, tomatoes and groundnuts.
Secondly, avoid direct sunlight as much as possible. Protect your skin with proper clothing, hats, caps or even an umbrella. Use a sunscreen with the highest level of protects (SPF).
How do we treat sunburn?
1)                Use a cold compress or douse the affected area with cold water
2)                Apply creams or gels which contain Aloe Vera, camphor or menthol
3)                You can even refrigerate the creams or gels for extra relief
Extreme cases can be treated with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen or naproxen.
Some Helpful Hints:
1)                Avoid sunburn by using skin lightening products during the night
2)                Always keep a sunscreen as a staple in your purse or handbag
3)                Men are not naturally endowed with special protection. They should also avoid diseases like skin cancer which are result of over exposure to sunlight.

The Oils of Life ...and Beauty - Tiatio, Grace and Carowhite

To continue from where I left off here are a few more Oils and Serums to add to our list:
1) Tiatio Oil is a Shea Butter based product just like the popular Tiatio Shea which is excellent for lovers of Shea butter. Its very effective for unifying complexion to achieve an even skin tone.
2) Grace Serum which customer regularly call grace oil is an extremely active (and often harsh) skin lightening product made especially for knees, knuckles and elbow. It claims to effectively lighten these areas especially if the darkening is as a result of using lightening or bleaching creams and lotions. I usually ask customers to exercise extreme care in using this particular product because of its rapid action. And, yes, the product also comes as Grace Duo (serum and cleansing lotion)
3) Ahhh...the ever popular Carowhite Oil. This product usually sells fast...very fast. In fact I would estimate that it is probably among the top 5 oils in terms of units sold. It rides on the popularity waves of the inexpensive Carowhite range of products. Its probably better to use this product for short periods (not more than 3 weeks) and not for long term use. Once you have achieved your desired skin tone just discontinue to avoid issues.
