I want to introduce a product that is making me take a whole new look at Essential Oils. Boots Collagenese Tightening and whitening Body Lotion (spf30) is that product. I decided to review some of the ingredients used in formulating it and I came about some interesting stuff. The lotions contains several extracts and essential oils including yarrow, mallow, peppermint oil, pumpkin seed, Sambocus Nigra (elder berry), terminalia catappa and sweet almond. A closer look at these reveals the amazing properties of essential oils. For instance, peppermint contains menthol and has excellent antibacterial properties. It contains mono unsaturated fatty acids excellent for exfoliation, moisturizing and toning. Pumpkin seed on the other hand contains Vitamins A, B E and K, several minerals, fatty acids which is effective as an antioxidant and anti-acne agent. Boots Collagenese worked wonders for my kid sister and is definitely worth a try for me. It also reminded me of the need to always be conscious of product labels when buying items off the shelf. It helps us understand our body care needs better by enabling us to identify which ingredients are best suited for our own unique skin type.
